Legal complaint has been filed against browser based game Project Tank by Wargaming developer known for it’s biggest online hit World of Tanks. Project Tank is a multiplayer game developed by Chinese developers Gamease and Changyou. The lawsuit is based on the fact that the game is very similar to World of Tanks also it uses some of the original visual art or material why is pretty absurd for anyone do to that in gaming industry.

One of the evidence that World of Tanks was copied are “Copying is evidenced by the fact that the designers of Project Tank copied historical inaccuracies found in WoT…” also “Copying is further evidenced by the fact that the designers of Project Tank copied tanks from WoT that never existed in real life, and which included features original to WoT.” It all sounds like this really might be one huge copycat of a game which we don’t endorse.

While the Chinese developer thinks that Wargaming used their connection to shut off their facebook page, but that’s probably cause there were heat of people coming to it and writing how wrong is that they are copying WOT.

Free to play games on consoles ?

With PlayStation 4 being announced not so while ago Wargaming will probably step in with their World of Tanks. Only it won’t be full paid title but a free to play model on a game that has never been seen before on console, which is pretty much a shame for all console players, since we PC “geeks” enjoy this kind of model and it does pay off.

This all sounds interesting to us as it is, cause we really wanna see how will they do it, we talked in our latest post update about 8.5 premium how free players will from now on have features that only “paying” customers had. And we also got a quote about difference or how you look at free and premium players.

“The line between the gameplay experience for a free player and a Premium player is thinning. Not just for skill-based games like World of Tanks, but for free-to-play games in general. There are a myriad of titles out there to choose from and players expect a high degree of production value and support from free-to-play games today.”

Thin line indeed and it’s important not to cross it in any direction since we don’t want anyone feeling left out.

8.5 update for World of Tanks

Premium features that only premium members or players were getting are now being offered to FREE players, but with Promo Codes that’s not so interesting to you I guess but still it’s kind of cool to see how World of Tanks changes over time with these new updates.

Certain features that were available only to the ones who payed are now also for those who are less hard core and more casual which means free in some ways. German tech tree is something that is also getting an update, at least when we speak of tanks, there will be a few more medium sized tanks like the Leopard 1.

Soviet tech tree is getting T-60, T-70 and the T-80. Did you maybe got bored of the same old maps even thought more and more maps are added, this game is getting a new one for us to test it as our playground with our premium and classic tanks that are free, the map name is Pearl River. This certainly is an improvement over the last update we talked about.
